I just got a 52" widescreen rear projection HDTV the other day, and when i play my 360 or watch a movie or something the edges of the screen are all blurry. its blurry an inch away from the edges. but in the middle its absoulutely crystal clear. and also on the left edge of the tv i noticed theres a lot of blue tint present there.

now i have a best buy tech coming tomorrow but iwas wondering if you guys just think maybe its just in the delivering something got moved or im going to need a new tv sent to me?

check if you have surround sound speakers near it(magnet)may be throwing off the picture.

check the speakers thing. Is it a Sony? Did you buy the extended warranty?

yep, speaker magnets will ruin your tv. if the tv is shit the speakers will be too close and fuck up your tv. that blows man, hopefully its something fixable.

if it were the speakers it would do it whenever you watched it, not just on when you played xbox or watched a movie. the tv may just be too large and the audio/video outputs arent able to handle the screen diameter.

you ever sell your old unit?

i sold my tv but never sold the entertainment center yet. an as far as the speakers go. how far would you say they need to be away from the tv? i have the subwoofer about 3-4 feet away from the tv and another speaker about 3 feet from the tv.

the tv is an RCA and i have the 4 year extended waranty on it. so the tech is coming over for free on wednesday.

a foot should be more than enough distance. it doesnt happen when your watching tv normally right?

it happens when the tv is on and im watching a dvd or playing xbox. as far as cable goes i havent gotten that yet until tonight. but when i play my xbox you can notice the blurry a lot more because its in hd. the dvd player you can see it a little but its not that extremely noticeable unless you are looking for it.

oh and i also just called my girlfriend and had her take every speaker that was even close to the tv and move them into the other room and turn on the tv and she said it was still blurry.

it may have thrown the projector off, check the setting and see if there is a color adjustment. That allows you to manually move the projector inside of the tv.what the magnets do is move the projectors and make the colors mix causing the blurriness.

ive done that as well. the tv also has its own auto-convergence. i was just reading that the blurriness is caused by the bulbs being misaligned. and they need to be fine tuned.(which the tech would do.)

so im thinking in the delivery process the tv may have been moved or something like that.

i honestly thing its just the AV output of your tv. your xbox and dvd player cant compete with the hdtv

they should, and it shouldn't cost you any money if you have a service contract.

now why would that be? im confused at this.

and yea i have a 4 year service plan on the tv. so dont have to pay for anything.

it may just be setting with the tv like widescreen or theatre or something

no i read the instructions. it just never said anything like changing a setting like that. and plus now that i think more about it i think that one setting was just for regular composite cables. i dont im not sure. ill have to look at it tonight and mess with it a little or just wait until tomorrow so the tech will get it fixed.

and im thinking i might have to call best buy about their delivery service then if its the cause of the problem. i should have just borrowed my dads truck and took it home myself.
