if there is a visible spring hooked to the wastegate actuator arm, that is the spring mod. there should be nothing hooked to it, if its stock

awesome.. ok next question. how does it work. there is a spring attacheds to the outside of it, but it looks kinda messed up. the end of it is kinda bent and pulled straight and it is attached to a little clamp thing to the rod. is is supposed to b e like that and if this is right what kind of boost should my car be running and holding??

way too many variables. you can have a spring mod that holds no more than stock (if improperly done) and one that will hold boost until the turbo and engine blow up (again, improperly done)

damn, how is properly done, or is this something that you would jsut have to do in person and not explain?

stock you should be spiking 12-14psi and holding 10-12psi to redline...but your spring mod should have you higher then that but should not spike over 17-18psi w/o stage 1 or you will get a excessive boost code i think its a
P0234 and the stock fuel setup wont support safely over that anyways:thumb:

Boost really all depends on the tension of the spring. DOES YOUR CAR HAVE A BOOST CONTROLLER.

you just tighten up the spring to add boost, loosen the spring to drop boost
start low, work your way up, but on stock fuel system don't go above like 17 or 18 psi

that means that rod thingie you were taling about is called a turn buckle and if you put a wrench in the middle of it you can turn it one way to tighten (adding more boost) and the other way to loosens it dropping the boost levels:thumb:

see, i think i am doing stock. it is spiking 14 then drops to 12. sometimes it holds 14, but not often. depends on engine temp and weather.

from the fron of the car it should be towards you and yes if you get a boost controller preferablly one like the turbo xs hp mbc then you can dial it in better and reduce spiking:thumb:

now is the spring supposed to be in perfect shape? cause the end attached to the rod is straightened a bit and not looking pretty. the rest is in good condition, but the part past where it is connected is shitty lookin.

sounds like a bad install or a beat spring ..it can be replaced by going to home depot and getting a spring assortment kit or you can go to autozone..or can you spend close to $150 for agp wga and have a better way of holding boost:thumb:

personally i would remove the spring mod and run it stock these cars are pretty damn fast as they are...power is not the problem with the srt-4 its traction...so what im saying is if you learn to drive the car better you will benifit more from car then your spring mod does...i hope this makes sense :thumb:

yea, that totally makes perfect sense, im just in love with more boost. but.. i guess until i get motor mounts and all i will remove it. also my main reason for wanting this boost is to beat my friend whot alks alot of shit. he has a 2000 integra gsr with a t3/t4 installed. i really wanna beat him. think i can stock or what? i know he is fast, but i dont know his n umbers. i know he has his fuel system done some computer work and a LSD. what would i need to beat him. i was hoping the spring mod would be enough, but i dont really know anything

you could probably beat him i raced the turbo integra from my race team and he got teh smoked on two seperate runs...although if he know his shit you could be in trouble..but the spring mod will help...you need to get a new spring assortment kit from autozone or a hardware store and replace your spring and then dial it in...try to get the spike around 17-18 tops and it should hold 14 psi to red line just go on the side of caution on dial in dont go too tight at first go on the side of loose...keep tightening it then run it .try 3rd gear to dial it in ( gives the best results)when you hit desired leveli marked my turnbuckle bolts for optimum setting just in case it backed itself off:thumb:

Here is the parts list for the SPRING MOD:
(1) Turnbuckle from Home Depot
(1) Package of assorted springs from Autozone
Picture of Parts:
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/6434/springmodpartslist5kz.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)
Step one: Take out Intake and Battery (not necessary but makes it easier)
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2691/springlength28lk.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)
Step two: Put together Spring and Turnbuckle as in the picture above. I actually had to make the spring shorter so that it had some resistance. You'll have to play around with it to make it work for you.
Step three: Connect spring to the battery tray.
http://img348.imageshack.us/img348/6356/springattach6xd.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)
Step four: Connect the turnbuckle to the Wast Gate. If you do it right it will stay where you put it w/o moving.
http://img348.imageshack.us/img348/3338/turnbuckleattach5in.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)
Step five: Put the battery and Intake back and check all hoses.
Here are some pics of the SPRING MOD after it was finished:

<copy and paste masta - BTW I did this mod back when I had my srt and it was a very noticable gain, If done correctly. This is a short how-to from srtforums. Silverbullet used to have a great how- to but he's website isn't up anymore.I hope this offers more insight....
