hey folks,

i recently got a custom badge to replace the ram head up fron. now, i looked at the ram head up front and realized that it is bolted in somehow, and don't really know how to take it out. so, i wanted to see if anyone on here knows how it can come of without f-ing the ram up or the car. so please, any experience or suggestions are appreciated. thanks peeps. peace.

i thought it was put on with double sided tape? are you sure its bolted on?

maybe try a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, if it is in fact, double sided tape. Just don't get it too hot.

One year was bolted, I think thats 03's. They changed it on 04's and 05's I believe.

well, mine is an '04 and it is bolted, and yes, i am sure. it took off the 3 bumper bolts under the hood to make sure, and it was indeed a bolt of some sort holding it on. i will double check to make sure another day. keep you folks posted...

maybe that is what it is. i'll check. how did you get around that thing? did you just pry off the head, or did you have to cut that or something?

^they're $45 bucks shipped where I got mine, but it's baked and cleared and colormatched to my stone white, so that does take time.

My 03 had two clips and was a bitch to take off. I painted it black at first, then shaved it later...

It is easier just to take the top 3 bolts and get behind the cover and see before you go and yank on the ram.

the nut on the back of the badge is a 10 I believe. Some were taped and some had the nut on it. 03s had it. Some 04s and I think I did one 05 that had it. It's not hard. Take the three off the top and reach in that way. if it's tape you basically just pull it off. I'm hoping you got it off by now though.

Its easy on the '05, just rip of the cheap, thin, plastic ram head, then peel off the black backing, it's just taped on, and the plug thru the bumper pull right out with it...this is for my '05 of course...if you want to keep your ram head from cracking, and good luck with that, pry from the top on the horns...it's held on by only two snaps under the horns, so prying from below will snap it.

My '03 had no tape, just the el-cheapo stamped steel "nut" holding it on.

I'm looking into having a custom one made with a Black Widow on it.

My badges came off the day I brought it home. A few months after that and the wing came off.

my 05 just pulls off . there is a little plastic barrel clip on each side of the head , and a barrel male end on each horn. all plastic , just use a small flat head and pry the outside of the shield.
