How fast do you think these 2 cars will run the 1/4 mile when they come out?

I with you. Anything slower then 14.0 is a waste of such a fine looking automobile!

well, the opel advertises 0-62 (100km/h) in 5.2, so yea...
srt-4 was advertised as 5.3-5.5
i plugged it in to a calculator, and it said 13.7, but i think it could get a little quicker than that
a different calc said 14.05 at 105 :gay:
i used this formula
Speed at 1/4 mile point = 220 * (HP / Weight) ^.3138
Quarter Mile time = 6.9446 X (weight / HP)^.2841

I think it will runs low 13's. The other Ecotec cars have been underrated so I am actually optimistic.
If the car will trap around or even over 100 mph there is no reason it won't run mi/low 13's. 1.8-1.9 60 ft's from the factory should be easily achievable from what I hear about the rear tires size.

Voted 13.50-14.0.....
the Sky is a pretty nice looking car...I just don't know if I could get past the fact that i'd be driving a Saturn. No matter how fast it is, there's still that stigma....
....kinda like driving an 11-second civic. It hauls ass pretty well, and STILL everyone thinks it's gay....:jester:

there will probably be a demand for rebadging it as an opel... m4d 7y73 EDM is on its way... especially judging from what i've read on the sky forums already

V8 in a Cavalier? It's hard to fit anything larger than a supercharged 3800/4t65E combo in the '95+ cars.
Oh... the "European" Cavalier.

i think its power performance will be similar to ours, given its similar weigth. even tho it is rated at higher HP and TQ, it has a RWD layout, so more drivetrain loss. it will own us on the curves tho i think. RWD in a car that small with that much TQ is gonna haul some serious ass on the corners.
plus, being that it is a saturn, there will prolly be plenty of ways to lighten it up. that could be a major advantage as long as soneone didnt mind driving around in a brand new gutted car. i personally dont mind it. i gutted my SRT out in like the first 2 months of owning it.
