View Full Version : Car pops out of 3rd gear...

Recently the car started to pop out of 3rd gear very few times... wasn't noticable untill it did it more and more...

taking the car to the dealer. I think it's the synchro for 2nd to 3rd but who knows. it broke the shift lever a week ago and some pieces might have fall into the tranny and caused that.

I'll update here.

im guessing the synchro like you ahve stated. let us all know man. hope everything goes smoothly for you.

I had the same problem get it taken care of before you fuck (is it ok to curse? in here?) it up hardcore...... Same exact thing. its notchy sometimes too right ??? even double clutching? Dont hesitate unless you dont mind waiting a day or two for a tranny swap.

Here I am,Take it to the dealer asap.
have them order a 2-3 synchro,shift fork,and the slider for the shift fork.
My friends car did the same thing and this fixed it,You should do a clutch While your in there too.

lol , mine is starting to do that now too. I already had 3rd and 4th replaced at 2500 miles. I now have 44k

sucks man. try to use the heel toe shift method. thats what these cars were designed for as far as shifting is concerned.

UPDATE: As of today, my parts are still not in. all of the are in but the main 3rd gear.

Borla exhaust, couple of switches (red, blue)... nothing too fancy.

Thanks. The car broke a shift fork and it went inside the tranny, that's why the 3rd gear's synchro got damaged. I could see it happening.

I have heard that it may be the needle bearings, not just the synchro?

I'm hopefully, bringing my car for repair (for this issue) soon. HOpefully under warranty,too
