The suspension and Owens' subsequent game-day status are the subjects of a grievance filed by the NFL Players Association. The hearing is Nov. 18 before arbitrator Richard Bloch.
The union will contend Owens' punishment is excessive, even though the labor agreement permits a four-game suspension on the basis of conduct. The threat of further inactive status, NFLPA lawyer Richard Berthelsen said, constitutes "additional discipline for the same offense." NFLPA executive director Gene Upshaw said it was "piling on."

Interesting that some of you are saying that the NFLPA will win. 2 years ago, the Bucs did the same thing to Keyshawn and he remained sidelined for the final 6 games of the year.
SilverSRTbang - I knew someone was going to throw FF into a post! I don't have him on any of my teams, but in one league I'm in, the guy who has TO also has Holt, lol. Talk about screwed!

yea but see if you dont remeber though the nflpa wasnt really involved in the keyshawn ordeal. at least not as much as they are with TO. they dont want this to be another keyshawn issue. thats why i think they will win.

Call me cynical, but Owens is 10x the player Keyshawn is. I think he'll get preferential treatment.

i hope TO doesnt pla again this year. i dont care how good of a receiver he is. he needs to learn a lesson from all of this. he needs to learn to stop running his mouth. hell even randy moss has stopped running his mouth since last year.

Keshawn didn't take out a grevice with the league he didn't want to play for whats his face in Tanpa Bay, John Grundan. Owen seems like he still wants to play for the Eagles he just wants more money

he may still want to play for the eagles but, why would the eagles ever want him back? especially after all the problems he has caused in that organization.
the eagles can pick up someone to replace him in free agency next year.

can you say risking career to play in Super Bowl with an MVP level performance had they won
besides name a receiver in the league besides Steve Smith thats better than Owens

Even if Keshawn isn't half the player TO is, the problem is the same: Both players causes undue problems to thier respective teams. You don't bite the hand that feeds, and these idiots are the guys that have to learn the hard way. Anyone remember when TO was in SF? When SF started losing, he blamed everybody but himself there too.
TO is not going to play another game this season. TO will not be a Eagle next year. And TO will have a hell of a time finding a team that will pay him top dollar like the Eagles did. Keshawn taught us this. Big Pauly should do a bet on this, I would bet everything I got on this one.

There's noone better ON the field. It's unfortunate he's so bad off it.

Wow, the forum is split 50/50 on this! Definitely interesting....
Tom, you are right, his talent and athletic ability is really unmatched ON the field, BUT .....

he is by far one of the greatest receivers on the field. no doubt about that. but off the field he is a complete selfish little bastard. he needs to take a page out of the book of jerry rice in off the field behavior.
