BOTTROP, Germany — StarTech, a division of German tuner Brabus, is unveiling its latest creation, the Chrysler 300C 3.0 CRD, based on the European 300C station wagon. The vehicle makes its world debut at the Essen Motor Show in Germany.

Unfortunately, the 300C wagon is sold only in Europe and not in the States, where Chrysler elected to market only the Dodge Magnum wagon alongside the 300C sedan.

The StarTech SD6 performance tuning kit is intended specifically for the 300C wagon fitted with the Europe-only 3.0-liter V6 common-rail turbodiesel. Output is bumped from 218 to 262 horsepower and torque from 376 to 428 pound-feet.

The full customization treatment includes an aero body kit, featuring a chrome grille, front spoiler, roof spoiler and side sills. Twenty-inch wheels and tires are also fitted, as are sport springs that lower the ride height by 40mm. StarTech also has modified the interior, with hand-crafted leather, wood, and aluminum trim.

StarTech's parent, Brabus, for many years has maintained close ties with Mercedes-Benz, providing tuning kits and custom accessories to clients in Europe, Asia and North America.

Old post, but the 300C wagons do look pretty good in person. I like them a lot more than the Magnum. A couple months ago I saw a Euro-spec sedan with the CRD with manufacturer plates outside of Stuttgart where I live (which just so happens to be home of DCX's worldwide HQ). The interesting thing was the manufacturer plates were from Michigan.

You never know. I hope to see more diesels in the US. With the new mandatory low-sulphur fuel in the US as of this year it makes that much more likely to happen when combined with things like Mercedes' BlueTec urea injection and particulate traps that can clean up diesels to pass the ever increasingly stricter emission laws.
