There's a chance the quickest FWD turbo Dodge may turn out to be Turbo III powered vice the Mopar (now Dodge) sponsored 2.4L turbo's. He's making steady and big improvements and is yet to max out his current setup.

Stephane has posted on the srtforums but I don't think many know who he is or what he's done. Just like when Scott Mohler posted again recently and people were asking who he was and why his trader rating was so low when he was trying to sell some parts. :lol:

Impressive as hell. I never expected that at all. I am also surprised it is ETing so well at such a low mph. Most of the cars in that class pickup close to 40 mph out the back door and they are only getting 30 mph or so.

Isn't this ET already quicker than Crawford? His best time listed on NHRA's website is 8.26 but at about 10 mph higher. http://nhrasportcompact.com/2006/drivers/m_crawford.html

I thought Carlson went a little quicker last year. I'm not sure what was up at this event, but the SMP car has been trapping around 178-ish which would put them right up there. I'm not sure if they were trying anything different that race. It'll be interesting to see how it goes as they've slowly been turning up the wick.

I just checked and Carlson did run a best of 7.639 at 183.41 at Moroso last August during the Sport Compact Nationals. That's quite a bit more time to drop, but it will be an interesting season. For the money invested in this car he's doing great compared to some of the big, factory sponsored teams.

I wasn't considering Carlson because he is in PRO FWD not Hot Rod. Hot Rod is still unibody.

Different classes, but I think he is the quickest "FWD Mopar", even if it isn't a real car, so to speak. Class-wise I'm pretty sure the SMP car is the quickest Mopar now.
