Actually they were High School students. Mostly Juniors and Seniors. I think the reason those douche bags are picketing is because one of the girls that died had a 3 year old baby. I wish something could be done about the terrorists here in America.

As my pastor is fond of saying some Baptist Churches are taking "Baptist" off of their name... other Churches OUGHT to. Westboro falls into the later category.

Doing a little searching online I found that "Westboro Baptist Church" isn't even really a church, they're a puppet organization of the ACLU, funded and ran (2 of the "Church Leaders" are lawyers for the ACLU) by the ACLU. Basically the Westboro Baptist Church exists to sway public opinion away from "Conservative Christians." But the leadership Westboro Baptist Church isn't even CLOSE to conservative; do a little reading on their "Pastor" Fred Phelps:

So why did they choose a "Baptist" name for their False Flag organization? Because there are alot of Independent Baptist Churches. In fact that is one of the doctrines of the Baptist is that there is no Church Hierarchy (priest reporting to bishops, bishops to cardinals, etc..) and typically no "master" organisation under which all Baptist Churches fall (American Baptist and Southern Baptists being the exceptions).

Even most INDEPENDENT Baptist Churches belong to an association (Like the Bible Baptist Fellowship.
