What do you prefer.....shocks/springs or a nice set of coilevers? I can't decide...Currently I have Tein S-Techs on stock shocks and I was going to go with Tokico Illumina's in the spring because I want my car to handle better and I am getting a little tired of bouncing around on certain roads that I travel frequently. But what about coilovers? I have heard mixed reviews on both set ups. Anyone with experience with either set up who could give me some useful feedback? I would appreciate it. Thanks

i have the mopar s3 coilovers. they are great! haven't had a problem with them yet. i installed a set of tein s-techs on a friends srt, and i found it harder to control the car than mine. it's too bouncy. i know the eibachs and mopar s1 springs have a higher spring rate so the ride isn't as irradict. if you want to buget it, i would go ipp coilovers or a tokico/eibach or mopar s1 spring combo

Thanks for the response. I know that the eibachs are nice and thought about maybe going with the tokico/eibach set up but I like the drop the S-Techs gave me...It looks good. I do agree that the bouncing is a bit much though. Controlability wise, the car isn't that difficult to control in my opinion. However, if I jerk the car hard enough, I can get the ass end to sway a bit...sort of a move and follow type deal... The front handles pretty tight either way you go and the ass end follows. I take it your friends car also had stock shocks?? Was this what you were refering to? I want my car to handle like a champ (s3 coilovers, sway bars, etc.) so I am willing to spend the money, it's just going to be a while before that happens (like you said...budget). So, that's why I was asking if anyone had any experience with the tokico/tein set up or could give me some feed back on the coilovers. Just trying to make up my mind about the spring/shock set up...would it be sufficient enough to fit what I want or will I be left wanting more after they are installed... or just to wait and spend the money on s3 coilovers.
By the way, if anyone for some odd reason decides they don't want their s3 coilovers and are looking to sell them, please let me know. P.M. me or email me tab315_@hotmail.com Thank You

Try the tein/tokico setup. I mean it will greatly improve your rabound rate. I would say get coilovers only if your looking to fit in some really fat wheel/tire set. If mopar uses the tokicos on the acr, i would think you would be good to go. Afterwards, spend some more money on maybe a new set of swaybars and tower braces.

Excellent. That's what I was looking to hear. Thanks agian. How wide exactly are we talking for those coilovers. Like 18"x 8" or larger than this. I don't think I'll be going wider than 8"..... 8.5 maybe.

i know you can fit an 18x8 in there. Not sure what offset is need or if spacers are needed. You would need to check the socialist forums (http://www.srtforums.com) and find the specs. I know you can fit a 17 or 18 x7.5 in no prob!

I'll be buying a set of springs for my car after christmas with my christmas money, just haven't decided which ones yet. I want the Mopar stg 1 just because I don't want to blow the struts but I want it lower than that, so I'll probably get Hotchkis or Eibachs.
