View Full Version : FS: Stage 3 w/ toys, 2003

I will be removing my Stage 3 with Toys ('03) hopefully next weekend. It has 7k miles on it. Mostly easy miles, if anyone knows the history of my engine since I built it the first time.

I'm thinking $3000 + shipping, and I'll throw in the EGT gauge/probe, since the manifold is already tapped for it.

For anyone looking for the reason, I'm having bottom end issues again, so I'm temporarily going back to a stock turbo/engine, and rethinking my options.

Feel free to toss out offers if you think I'm asking too much. I'll feel free to shoot them down. :stupid:

As I've said before, if people could go out and get it new for $3k, they would.
there wouldn't be a ton of posts of people waiting...and waiting....and....

Besides, I throw in that nifty free EGT probe & gauge. ;)

X2, but I dont think he'll need any luck. With the price jump that S3 with toys kits just had, combined with the change from TiAl to slightly slower spooling steel (I think thats still happened, but dont quote me on it), this version of the kit has more desirability.

that TiAl wheel is still available, the inconel wheel is just the cheaper option :thumb:

I think srt4fun80 was looking for the S3 PCM.

Pit Viper
06-14-2018, 05:28 PM
I've actually got a lot of people interested in the PCM.

Unless I can find buyers for the turbo/manifold and toys, though, I'm not parting it out.

Thanks, though. :)

I might have a buyer for you with the toys... i'll link him here

I cant believe no one is snagging up the turbo/manifold. With all these people using piggybacks and return lines on S1 or ready to go standalone its a nice integrated turbo to use.

willit work on my o5??
im interested in a s3 kit

Pit Viper
06-30-2018, 12:43 PM
It WILL work on an 05. The only thing that will happen is that your battery temp light will come on. You can either just remove the bulb or wire in a resistor.
I'd just pull the bulb, personally. That is the most worthless sensor ever. I've had an aftermarket battery for years and the battery temp sensor is just hanging down in the back of my engine bay.

what condition is the toys harness in?

As good as you can be without being new. :)
The kit was installed without the engine in the car, so all the wiring was wrapped in loom and zip-tied out of the way before the engine was put back in.

n/p.

The turbo only has 7k on it, and it's given me no problems whatsoever.

Wish I could say the same for my engine block.

i know, bummer. im gonna try to help though and get this thing..
as i want a bigger turbo and toys.

question does the low setting on DAB get better gas mileage compared to my no toys type set up.
i get shatty mileage and if i can have low boost good mileage...i know i shoulda got toys with my s2:ftard:

Pit Viper
06-30-2018, 03:20 PM
DAB0 helps, due to not boosting as much, but the S3 turbo comes on pretty fast, so you'll still use a little bit o' fuel.

The fuel pump comes preinstalled with the regulator in a canister. Very easy to swap the whole thing.
It's basically held into the fuel tank with a gigantic plastic nut. :)

The turbo/manifold can be a bit of a hassle, but mechanically speaking it's pretty easy.

I'd say the hardest part is doing the wiring. The nice thing is that you can install the rest of the kit, and drive it while you take your time on the wiring. :)

If the 05 didn't have a problem with this pcm you would have it sold right now.

Pit Viper

What's weird is that the only real issues is the battery temp light.

That's an easy fix.
Pull the bulb. :)

Or, if you're feeling rambunctious, wire in a resistor.
