View Full Version : Do the 3 boost solenoids ever fail?

Just as the title says.

My boost even though I have replaced the turbo and manifold doesn't seem to "snap"as quickly as other people's boost. I checked all the lines and I dont think I have any leaks from the solenoids, and Im going to double check and re-tighten all my tbolt clamps just in case.

If that doesn't fix it, though, all I can think is that I have a bad solenoid.

Does this ever happen?

it does, but it should throw a code if it is electronically bad. if they are plugged, then it could happen, but it doesn't seem likely that would happen

i'd check for boost leaks... EVERYWHERE

hook it up to a leak tester, and look it over, spray with soapy water, the whole 9 yards

Yeah I've seen them go bad and not throw a code. You hear a leaking noise from them when testing.
