Obviously you hit something at high speeds or your tire just spit out a piece of itself.

Street Racing..

actually no. i was going about 80 on the freeway, then all of a sudden i here thump thump thump thump. i got off at the next exit and saw the wheel well thing all messed up. i thought that was what was making the noise. i noticed the tire 3 days later. plus its the back tire, wasnt from trying to launch on the streets. i dont street race, besides the occasional 2nd gear pull against an evo or something interesting.

Thats odd that the tread would seperate like that. I don't think I will ever be buying those tires.

Kumho Ecsta MXs have pretty good grip for around 100 bucks. The treadwear isn't so good though.

Best thing to do is get the tire unmounted and look inside and see if the tire has been plugged or patched. If so you do not have a claim. Look at the spot where the tread came off. Does the spot have some polished rubber? Or any of the steel cords have brass on them NOT RUST but brass color. If either of those are present and the tire was not plugged or patched you could have a shot at getting a new tire or maybe all four. It also just could have been a road hazard that punctured the tread only to that surface and water and air finally worked the tread loose.

If you can't get anywhere with the tire company and you are sure that brass or polish is present send me the tire. I will write up a report and inspect the tire for you. Then you can go after the tire comany. It is what I do for a living.
