Looking nice. So have you properly tested those lower rails according to federal crash testing standard and do they have proper crumple zones? j/k

Those pics are a little big though...

They told me that they couldn't adjust my coilovers to Mopars recomended specs unless I bought cmber bolts. I asked them what they thought the slots were for, and they said "what slots?" :furious3:

I am finally going to build my own alignment kit, my garage flat enough for it, and I am tired of morons touching my car.

well, the place i get my tires actually did a pretty decent job on my car... and i have a lifetime warranty on my alignments, so if it ever shows symptoms of not being aligned, i jsut bring it righ back in

i'm thinking about going somewhere to get it corner balanced once, then doing the free shit to maintain it... or get them to align my car to the new specs... for free

 I have already had thoughts about this. I have a good friend that runs a shop down the street that can get align it for me. I should be able to get it pretty close before taking it down there though. I set the caster at +6 but the toe and camber is waaaaaaaay off(as you can tell from the pics).

My toe is slightly off in the rear. Car is a little squirrelly at 150 (I tried to get you some video this morning)

Most big places like Firestone & Goodyear offer lifetimes alignment. My dads buddy has 4 scales I am going to try and borrow when the time comes.

I can rationalize new wheel purchases because of the weight advantage.

I found a Nova with the wheels I was thinking about running. Let me know what you guys think.

wow... that actually looks a LOT better than i pictured it.... i say go for it :thumb:

especially if you go with a dark color like that :drooling:

slow4dr
07-18-2017, 10:49 PM
I like the darker finish on the wheel more than the bright silver like that guy has. More than likely my car will end up a deep grey or a mix of blue & gray.

What's corner balancing? :dunno:

punkrokdood

What's corner balancing? :dunno:
basically, they put a scale under each wheel then they adjust the coilovers so you can get an ideal weight ratio front to rear and side to side

generally 50/50 side to side and as close to 50/50 as possible front to back (not likely in FWD) for road racing, and maybe a LITTLE front heavy for drag racing. I'm looking for a more "in between" set up... i'd like to have massive traction on the strip, but i enjoy whipping through turns as well

:stupid:

Only adjusting the ride height has very little to do with it. That is more of roll center & anti-squat equation.

Bascially If I know one corner of the car is lighter than another I can move things closer to that area like the battery to keep weight evenly distributed.

:werd:

in your case you could do that relatively easily...

in the neon, its a little more difficult

I think the SRT-4 is like 62/38. . . . :owned:

I am not sure that I care for a 50/50. I like a little more weight in the back.

Lately I have been thinking VW. . .

Karman Gia in particular. . .

EJ20 powered

Using a subie FWD tranny, so I can mount the engine where the back seat would be

Easy 400hp, sub 2000lb, mid engine car.

Not much really. I am in dire need of a plasma cutter to proceed any further. I have to cut the rear fenderwells & frame rails apart and the reciprocating saw isn't the easiest to work with in this capacity.

Banks does not recommend using this with a carburetor. They were just to lazy to design their own EFI system so they used the common 4150 pattern that most carburetors use.
