So I’ve been reading...everyone says that stage 1 will supply enough fuel to run 18 PSI of boost. My question, has anyone ever dynoed to see what the EGTs and AFR are having the stage1 fuel and 18 psi? I know stock my car was running 10:1 AFR which leaves a lot of room to play, but just want to make sure that the heat or shitty 91 gas wont cause detonation. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

i was running 19 pounds on the STOCK PCM before i got a MAP clamp and i was STILL running 10's and richer....youll be fine, but after the boost goes off of the MAP table, the car starts to get worried and will pull timing, thats why you need a MAP clamp...to fool it into thinking its only getting like 15/16 pounds of boost....then it will trim fuel and keep timing nice and you will get more power, better mileage, and a smoother AFR line....

by the way i live in cali (91 pump gas) and its hot as hell where i live (mojave desert) so if my car can handle it, so can yours....

just be sure to keep a VERY close eye on boost leaks and AFR. 2 things that can VERY quickly kill your car

how do boost leaks kill your car?
depending on where they are, and how big they are, they can cause a LOT of problems... as well as vacuum leaks

One thing that is commonly overlooked when talking about boost pressures based on a certain Staged upgrade is air flow improvements. A car with S1, FMIC, CAI, 3" TBE, big T/B, etc running 18 psi will be more lean than a car with just S1 and 18 psi.

My car has pretty much all the air flow improvements, ported & clipped turbo, custom intake manifold, modified throttle body, 3" TBE, CAI, FMIC, and I have no fuel upgrades other than S1 and I have ran 18+ psi for 3 years and roughly 50K miles with no issues. My A/F is right around 12.0 and my EGT's never go above 1700.

yes, i am running stage 0 pcm with stage 1 injectors as my only fuel upgrade (03 srt), and 3'' exhaust.. and im spiking like 21 fallin to 17.. and my a/f is right at 12.. I also have a map clamp so im not pulling timing.. been on this setup for awhile and it runs really strong..
