is it hard to remove the toys from a pcm? I would like to do it without hurting the pcm. I was told it was a hard one to do.just asking before I even look at it.

You won't be doing anything to the actual PCM. It's the harnesses that connect to it. You're going to have to get the pins out somehow or cut them and find a way to add new pins.

the "turbo toys", as in Stage 2 or 3 w/toys? You don't even need them plugged/wired in. If they're not then you're automatically always at Dial-a-boost 3, loose the high-octane race gas mode, and won't be able to have the automatic intercooler sprayer.
Question for you. Why would you want to remove the toys? Are you planning on removing the full S2 or S3 setup and going back to stock/S1? If not then you're loosing on of the biggest benefits of the toys which is the high-octane mode.
For removal it's going to depend on how you routed the wiring as to what's easiest, but if you went exactly by the Mopar direction some of the plug/connectors on the control panel in the car probably won't want to fit through the hole in the A-pillar by the door hinges on the way to the engine bay. You could try disassembling the connectors, but it may be easier to just carefully cut the harness and solder it back together for future use. You can also disassemble the main harness connectors at the PCM to pull the pins back out, but some of the were also spliced and you'll need to cut those and insulate the exposed wire. Again it might be easier to buy new pins from the dealer and cut them a few inches out so you could add them back.

So if you remove said toys, what do you plan to do with the harness and bezzle? If you might sell it let me know. I have a S2 with toys PCM headed my way from somebody that bought the S3 upgrade.

No he is purchasing a used kit off another CSC member's car. He was just asking how? I agree it probably will be easier to just cut the wires and tape them off and then add in new pins and buy them and new harness plug backs from MPSC.
More then likely I'll be doing the install. Don't worry Paully I got ya man, just pick up them new backs and some pins from them so when it's time you're ready.

taking the pins out isnt very difficult it just takes time. A friend and I removed my s2 w/toys in 2 hours that was evertying taken out no cutting of wires.

Damn oh well. Well removing the pins should not be to hard. You will need a small scrib or something small enough to stick in the connector and depress the small locking tab on the pins.

just and fyi - you can remove the toys harness and still use hom as long as the wire that controls that is intact. i have my car like this right now. the dab and ic sprayer are not functional, but hom is.

Yes, and you can wire in different replacements switches for all the toys functionality as long as you have a toys PCM. But without doing that (and since it wasn't mentioned) you loose the functionality if you remove the toys. :thumb:
