for $900, try to find a used 50trim kit, or save a little longer and buy a new one. kinetic and agp both have nice kits for not too much money

the biggest restriction and power choker on a stock car is the turbo BY FAR. you can maximize the efficiency of the stocker, but the exhaust side of that turbo is too small, and is THE BIGGEST restriction. with an untuned, low boost (10-12psi) 50trim, you can make damn near 300hp on an otherwise stock car. add a return line, injectors, boost controller and an exhaust, hit about 325. add an intercooler and turn up the boost for about 375-400hp. with a piggyback and race gas, you can max it out at close to 500

What about John's (PTP) SST, fpr and some other little bits.

i'd still reccommend a 50trim over that

I'd like to get Stage 3, but I've been trying to keep my eye out for a Kinetic 50.

I got a good deal on a used gt3076r kit, you just gotta keep your eye on the buy/sell.

Wait a sec, so if i could find a 50 trim i could just swap turbos, manifolds, without having any fuel mods and get close to 300 hp?

as long as you kept the A/F safe, you could get pretty close...

adam at ST motorsports out here made pretty close to 300, if not 300 on the nose that way. if you're on stock injectors, no return line, meth injection might be a good idea for a safety net.

Adam made 318WHP on a completely stock, untuned 2004 with a 50 trim.

Damn, I didn't know that. I would have been keeping an eye out for 50 trims all summer then. Maybe I'll keep looking and find one this winter/spring and try to get one instead of installing a mapclamp with the chance of blowing my engine :ftard:

I haven't heard anything about it :ftard:

it wasn't anything "ground breaking" so it wasn't mentioned much.

i'd keep the mapclamp if you want to up the boost ever. you could set the clamp right at the upper limit of the stock sensor so that it won't overboost, then get a return line and up the boost a few pounds. obviously i wouldn't be going for 400hp on something like that, but 350ish wouldn't be too much of a stretch, although, i'd probably switch to S2 injectors and a return line if i shot for 350

This was back when I worked for Dave. The car had a stock modified intake and a homemade 3" exhaust. Otherwise it was stock on cali pump gas.

No  This was actually a stock airbox with a small adapter at the turbo to work with a 2.5" inlet.

ahhh, ok...

i'd like something like that... but i'd really like a 3" pipe to the airbox... someone needs to make a plastic one to look stock :sneaky:

:thumb: I'd be all over one if it was made. K&N should have done that instead of that damn FIPK kit.

i think protege mike used one of those, but had the stock airbox on top of it
