if the car has been sitting on for a while and i go to do a burn out (sometimes just with regular driving) a fuse pops under the hood and the car turns off. it is the aod fuse or something. the car can go a month without it happening or sometimes it happens 5x back to back. sometimes it pops 2 fuses at a shot; the aod and what ever fuse in the same location that makes the sentry key light turn on on the dash board. I am getting rather frustrated and I don't particularly want to take it to the dealership for them to be lazy and tell me "well you added stereo equiptment so that is what is causing it and you might have voided your warrenty." i work for circuit city installing stereos, i know the problem isn't the install, and just to be safe I pulled it out and the problem still happens

I'd start looking around the wiring harnesses for some rubbing marks. I think you might have a pinch someplace that's shorting out one of the feeds through the ASD.

Mine did the same thing when I first bought it. I t would pop that fuse and some times, pop it as soon as I put another one in, or drive a couple of days. Anyways long story short the left my wife and kids stranded once and me a couple times. Had it taken to the dealer, and supposodly it was a fuel pump wire grounding out somewhere on the body. But I have no Idea where.:thumb:

My knowledge on this matter only applies to 1st generation neons. Maybe they apply here..

Look for o2 sensor wires rubbing on the exhaust. I would believe that.. you are accelerating and rocking the exhaust and maybe shorting it out.

What is the exact name and/or fuse number of both fuses? If fuse 21 is one of them going out then that particular fuse provides power to the Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD), the fuel pump relay, the OBD-II data link connector under the dash, and the PCM. The fuel pump relay powers the fuel module inside the gas tank. The ASD relay provides power to the surge solenoid, the PCM, the fuel injectors, and ignition coil.

I'd check and see if you have done any modifications to anything in those systems, such as wiring in a piggyback, upgrading fuel pump, installing scan gauge, etc. If you haven't done any of those thing you could try replacing the two relays and see if it reoccurs or start inspecting the wiring. A visual check might find something if you get lucky but a digital multi-meter might be helpful if you've used one before to check resistance, do continuity checks, measure current draw and so on when combined with the wiring diagrams in the FSM (factory service manual).

Do what blackbird says.
