i might have possible tranny and engine issues but dont know seeming that my car wont start anymore.the CEL is on and when i was able to drive my first 3 gears seemed like they were grinding so i shut her off and took a look under the car. i noticed a leak right where the oil pan is. then i drive to one of my friends house and hours later the car wont start it just makes a horrible noise when i try and turn her over. any ideas what this might be? any help would be appreciated.

More info and a closer inspection would be in order before even guessing. Does it crank and still turn over? Could be anything from flywheel bolt backing out, transaxle broken, engine damage, other problem, who knows? A good start if you have a malfunction indicator light is to read what code the computer has stored. Cycle the key off-on-off-on quickly and leave it in the on position and see which DTC (diagnostic trouble code(s)) get read out on the odometer display.

no the car wont even turn over and i also tried a diagnostic and a p0030 i believe came up which said something about misfire. so i bought some new spark plugs and gapped them to see if it would run better but it didnt. i hope its nothing major.

you could try new plug wires also. they tend to go out frequently on these cars due to the immense heat generated from the manifold and poor ventilation design. although this should definitely not be causing any shifting/starting issues. but its still something to look at anyway, just for good measure.
