Someone offered me a a 85 Porsche 944 with a 2.5L I4 for my Black R/T. Would it be worth it?

The 944 has never been my favorite (I like the 911 and others more), and the engine isn't that good (about the same as a Neon). But hey.. its a Porshce. Anyone have any input?

Here is my R/T: http://www.ridespace.net/rides/10240/

the 944 was the second biggest piece of shit porsche ever made next to the 924.

I'd keep the neon.

Depends on what kinda shape the 944 is in, and what you want to do with it. There is a Spec 944 racing series that is pretty fun. The N/A 944 is alright, the turbo is a lot more fun. Biggest problem with a 944 is parts, a clutch will cost you more than the damned car. It's a fun car, and will cruise all day at 130, but I dunno if the trade off in insurance and maintanince parts is worth it to you.

It would be one of the rare occasions where the upkeep and maintenance and running costs might make the Neon a better choice if it would be a daily driver but I guess it depends what you'd want to do with it. Unless it has some suspension work I bet the Neon is more fun to drive (unless you really like that rear wheel drive thing  ). And you'd be moving to car already more than another decade older than what you've got. :dunno:

I should also mention that the R/T is never driven anymore. Its got Crane 18's and 11:1 compression, and rull race parts.

I guess I should just eBay the Neon and get $$ instead.

I drive a 96 Neon Sport Coupe as a daily, and am picking up another black R/T tomorrow to fix/build.

I take it thats a don't do it, and not an OMG do it.

I have the say.. being able to say "I drive a Porsche" would be cool.
