I'm making this response to clear up some of the misconceptions that most of the people here are spreading. I usually make it a habit not to respond to these types of issues because its a losing situation. I can argue all day long and it just ends up wasting my time, the people that are going to hate will do it regardless of wether they are in the right or the wrong, or if they know the whole story.... so with that being said, on with the show.

1. Anytime you deal with vendors who are selling parts and that is their profession and livliehood, you have to treat it with a certain amount of care and respect. Me listening to any user (when the user could be a fake account) just trying to stir up trouble is not wise. A single person can create multiple accounts and make a good company look bad by starting a smear campaign on the internet. You know this and I know this. Thats why we take such care in responding to negative claims on the forums. We investigate in the background without telling anyone, and you'll find out why later.

2. Vendors will sue you at the drop of a hate for libel, slander, etc. We are very careful not to 'air any dirty laundry' for just this reason. You will never find me posting anything official in regards to a companies reputation for this reason. I get threatened almost weekly for the content of my users posts, and once every few months for the actions we do take on the forum, so we are careful how we proceed.

3. You will find that I never comment on a vendor leaving, for any reason. Some are kicked off, some leave voluntarily, and you wont find us commenting on either. As a user, you'd never know why unless you get a story from someone who thinks they are in the know.

4. Dynoworks -- They did get legal action against them, long after they were doing business. For those of you who need the whole story because you obviously dont know, I'll give it to you since enough time has passed and the court case has completed.

Dynoworks was not allowed to advertise for over a year, because of shady business practices. The cali fiasco happened, and I had much pressure from MANY people in Cali about how I was trying to keep their business down by not letting them be a vendor, how they were a great company with lots of ties to the community, and how I should do my duty as a bipartisan forum operator and let them advertise. The cali peeps who put this pressure on know who they are. And, they are the same people who are now pointing the finger that I should have 'known' he was shady and not let him on. They dont want to lose face on the forums so they try to point fingers and blame entirely at me when in the background, via PM's they were constantly trying to get me to bring them on as a vendor. When we had conclusive evidence, their vendor status was removed and the communication channel was left open.

You can make a case all day that we should have known sooner, etc. But when you are in our position, you need to act very carefully. Those of you who understand how litigous our society is will understand.

5. Rezin8 -- Again, I see people complain about how he ripped off people for a long time and I let it happen knowingly. You are wrong. Rezin8 didnt pay for his vendor level anyway, so I had nothing to gain by keeping him on. I knew he was in a financial tough spot, I thought he was a friend so I helped him out. I gave him free advertising. I donated over $200 to him and I'll never see that money back. When we found out he was ripping people off, we removed him. What more can you ask for? I got taken just like everyone else. To say I was in the know is ridiculous.

6. I wont comment on other vendors as it is too recent and again, I dont want any legal action taken against me. But I think you will see based on the behaviour above that we do remove vendors when we have enough evidence to cover our ass. Unfair business practices, discrimination, etc. are issues we take seriously, so we always err on the side of caution.

As far as banning trolls, we will continue to do this. Basicly, if you are there to cause trouble we dont want you. You may think you are important and vital to the community, but your wrong. The community is larger then one person. I dont know how many HUNDREDS of times I've heard people say "if you ban me this place will die, I _AM_ SRTforums" -- it always makes me laugh. People have been talking about the "death of SRTforums" forever.... yet we are still here. In fact, the trolls who register hundreds of accounts only make our registration numbers look more impressive to advertisers, so by all means... keep it up.

If you feel you can participate in the community without causing trouble, you are always welcome. And by trouble, I mean respecting other users, including newbs. If not, then we are better off without you.

I will not post on this board. In addition, the user database at SRTforums.com was stolen by the person who started this site, and tho it was my right and well within the legal bounds to do so, we did not sue this person. We reserve the right to start litigation at any time should the user list be used again inappropriately. I take our users privacy very seriously and that trust was violated by the proprietor here.

And for legal reasons we can't just "air out" every problem going on. Rest assured that us Admins/Mods over there are constantly communicating with eachother regarding all different kinds of situations on a daily basis. From moving threads, to electing mods, to problems with members/vendors...

i guarantee you 10k+ of the members there are there because of other reasons than learning about how to install a mopar blow off valve conversion kit. reasons such as things they heard or read there, people talking crap, etc.

the goal of a website (especially when money making is involved) is to get as big as possible, with tons of members, and tons of hits. the same thing ekool is trying to get rid of, is what helped make his website so big.

Everytime ekool has been called out he posts some long winded paragraph of bullshit and all the noobs start praising him and apologizing. the fact of the matter is he doesnt do anything about it. if it werent for admins like castrol that site would be in the shitter in two days. castrol organizes fund raisers for members in need, you know, the members ekool said dont matter to him cause no one is "srtforums" yet when a member needs help the entire community comes to their aid. Ekool may not care about his members, or one or two of them, but the members certainly care about each other and thats what made that site grow, not his failed attempt at running it.

2. The WS people never said "we are srtforums" but instead it was the large mass of people that spent all day reading and laughing along. Once again, he had a great thing that became more popular than him and it got canned. instead of being smart and helping the section he just got angry and deleted it. thats fine, people move on, the site suffers. Now on top of this, to him it doesnt matter who you are, what you did, or what you know. if your not giving him money and you try and speak up, boom, your gone. it doesnt matter if your a 2 year vet or a 2 day noob, your treated the same. and thats fucked up. for someone to spend 2 whole years actively posting on 1 site and having no more pull or repsect that the guy thats signed up last night and is asking about why he has a boost gauge is fucking pathetic.

3. you can all accept whatever you want out of that other place and ekools shit ass reply but personnaly I think he can suck my dick. If you run the site for money and have no connection to your "large" community of members then your just a worthless owner. you can keep getting all the newbies you want but over time they get sick of the lack of new info and stupid questions, and when they get screwed and try and turn to management on the site for help and get told they are nothing to the site, we will be waiting here with open arms.

when someone like super steve needed help the community came to his aid. if supersteve got screwed on a vendor deal he would of been told, and i qoute, "members need to do their homework before buying from a vendor". why the members need to check them out and then the management does nothing as they screw people over makes perfect sense. Even when the members say "hey we are getting screwed over" nothing happens till months down the line and the complaints fill up and by then its too late and people have been screwed out of some major money. on 4mation hozay suspended and then banned one person trying to sell a part and then not follow through with it, as soon as he didnt follow through and the PM was recieved action was taken immediatly and all his other for sale threads were shut down and notice had gone out about it. that was all within about an hour, not months. If members mean nothing to a site then the site is worthless in the members eyes, like srtforums. its just a playground for me to cause trouble and be an asshole. why should they care what i do? a members just a member. just the same, if im gonna spend everyday on a site i want it to be with people i enjoy talking to and under management i respect and who are glad im here, no matter how large they grow.

Wow, this is the biggest thread that I've ever missed out on. I have mixed views on this whole topic. First of all, if it really meant that much to him that he took the time to write that response, he should have registered and posted it himself. He won't register because then it would be admitting that this site is a competitor. Rob, it's admirable that you took it upon yourself to defend him and his actions. As far as convincing people here that SRTforums has changed and to go back, I disagree. When there was no competition, the site was run how he wanted. Now that there are several other sites out there, he feels the need to "overhaul" the forums and elect new mods. It's easy to make changes when you have to.

I myself have no problem with his business practices as far as vendor addition or removal because I am no longer affiliated with that site. I was not a fly on the wall with Psi-Fi so I don't have the right to offer my opinion on what took place. The whole ekool thread was kept in War Stories and if you read the warning about War Stories, it's not suppose to be taken seriously.

As far as his response that I stole forum email addresses, yes I did. Was it my intent to steal his advertising money? No. Was it my intent to steal his forum members? No. I saw my requests to improve the Forum Vendor problems go unnoticed with the response, they are not children, they can think for themselves. The last straw was when I was underminded by another administrator. When the War Story problem was brought up amongst the admins and mods, I took it upon myself to improve things. I posted a response in War Stories notifying the guilty parties to cease the trolling on other SRTforum sites. Most agreed and it was under control until JayC, an admin I've never even talked to jumped into the thread and stated his two cents along with threats to ban. In my opinion, he riled up the section for the sole purpose of removing it and having an excuse to rid the forum of problem members. Over the last year or two, I saw many forum Vets get fed up with the forum practices, give up and fade away. I wanted to reach out to these people and offer them an alternative. A place they could make their own. Why would ekool want forum members to stay on his site if they have a problem or are unsatisfied? Why would he not want them to go somewhere else? It's because now, he realizes there are more unsatisfied people than he thought. SRTforums is a great site for SRT information, but it's mammoth in size. At this site, I tried to create a more personable and friendly atomosphere. I stated many times, I'm not in this for the money or to make a profit. I'm grateful for the donations from forum members and the few vendors who took a chance to advertise here. Where we go from here depends on all of you.
