View Full Version : Squeaky front suspension, help
Well I don't know why it does this but going over bumps and even taking turns my suspension can be pretty squeaky, I wonder if this can be related to my bwoody traction bars? Heres a video of it:

Have you done any other suspension changes like bushing upgrades? Not sure how they attaches those specific traction bars, but it is possible a joint may be making noise.
Could be anything from your traction bars, a ball joint, control arm bushings, sway bar bushing, the upper strut mount, etc. Diagnosing any noise or vibration can be pretty tough and one of the easiest things would be to lubricate all application service points if you've changes out suspension bushing/components. If it's still there try having someone push up and down or rock the car a little while you listen from the area that's making the noise. If you still can't pinpoint it you could always wire up a cheap microphone and temporarily attach it near suspension movement points. Then drive around and listen for the noise to occur.
No, no bushings or anything. What parts of the suspension need lubrication?

Yeah...what parts are lubeable? I think the swaybar bushings, right?

My car just recently started to make a noise similar to that, though not quite as lound. I was wondering if maybe the strut is blown (Tokico I believe) since I am running sportlines.

If everything is stock then nothing needs lubricated since everything is sealed for life. If you "upgrade" to poly bushings, end links, etc. then they sometimes require periodic maintenance depending on what you're using with them (hence the "if you've upgraded").
I can't get to the site from this computer to listen to the video but it really could be a number of things. Since everything is stock I'd first start by putting the car on jack stands and going over the suspension and mounting points and make sure everything is torque to specs. Then maybe try some silicone spray lube on the sway bar bushings. And if you can replicate the noise by pushing down or rocking the car that might help narrow it down a bit as to what's causing it.
