I was thinking about getting a TiAl bov, to use on my stock turbo. I raed somewhere that it is not for the stocker. What are your opinions on this:afro:

It's quite a bit of overkill. I also hear they have a very stiff spring and will surge if you are running less than 18-20 psi.

youll need a new upper intercooler pipe to install it or a adapter to run it in your stock intercooler pipe...but any aftermarket bov is a step up from the rice plate:thumb:

Tial is the only BOV I will use, it makes a cool gobbling turkey sound, makes me cool with the ricers....
But you do kinda need a big snail, not that little toy hairdryer.....

I would only use the Tial with a bigger turbo.
My BOV of choice is the HKS.

TiAL is defintely overkill for the stocker and I would not reccomend it. I run the ED hard pipe kit with a GReddy Type-S and I love the set-up!

Great minds think alike, although I have the Manny-Z hard pipe....

Here is my engine builder at a burnout contest that occured at the Race track last year... He has a Tial on his 600hp Integra that traps into the 130's... You heard that right.....
I love the gobblin turkey sound of the tial...... give it a listen:

This man speaks the truth....for stock turbo or S3 the HKS is nice! For big turbo go with a Tial.
HKS Type 2 can easily handle boost for big turbos. The titan motorsports supra uses a Type 2.

When we say HKS were talking about the standard common version not the upgraded one.

Is that at redline? Can you get a different spring in them other than the one they come with? Every car that goes to the track that I know either has Txs, Greddy or HKS bovs I want something different, and I love the way the TiAl sounds. Is there any other bovs that sound like it?

I have heard of a few people buying the cheap ebay one and cuting the spring. Personally I wouldn't modify the nice piece that is the REAL Tial.

turbosmart bov's are really good and nobody has them. They make the megasonic, which is argueably the loudest bov made... definitely puts the rfl to shame...
But I had the turbosmart vee port bov on my mustang @ 14/18 psi pump/lead, and it sounds very nice, like a mellow cymbal crash

I saw that TiAl has a 7 lb. spring and a 11 lb spring, for their bov is that 7 lb spring still over kill on the stock turbo? I think PTperformance sells a heavier spring upgrade for the blue plate special has a 8 lb spring, so why is the Tial overkill on the stock turbo?
