I'm starting to wonder if there's something in the fumes of the Powder Coating process that makes people flake out?

This sounds just like the whole issue with Ron. (DaytonaGTS) Ron was a nice guy, everyone liked him and he could be trusted. Then he just flaked out and disappeared for 3+ months. Out of the blue he came back like nothing had happened and then disappeared never to be heard from again.

Concerning your deal, I hope that you don't get screwed, but it's not looking good. If I recall, one of his last posts on the Forums was that he just surrendered his SRT to the bank as a repossession.

Did you pay for the job up front, or is your exposure limited to the value of the valve cover?

I hope that it works out, but in deals like this time is your enemy.

I know who your talking about. He owed me 200 bucks for about 3-4 months (i was letting him make payments on stuff I sold him). However, he did end up sending me a check for 100 a month ago and I told him he could forgo paying the other 100 back, as he had done about that much worth of powdercoat work free before (in effect I ended up paying for it but still ok).

I have his old cell number you could call and also address you might want to contact him after Christmas. My impression of the guy is that he is a good guy but slow to follow though and hard times have made that follow though even worse.
