I'm reposting this so everyone can see the links in the text. Even Cali is invited to this one.
Ok here is the low down now. We have Norwalk Raceway Park (http://norwalkracewaypark.com/master_content.html) rented out for Friday may 19th. We can only have 90 cars though so you will wanna sign up before it gets full. We had about 50 cars on a monday in the rain last year. Felix, me, and Dj will be running this event this year with help from the Glass City SRT'S. just like last year will will have alot of door prizes and what not for people who pay to run.
Gates will open at 7:00A.M. and running will start at 8:00P.M. We will have a the track for 8hrs! So getting in enough runs will not be a problem at all. The track will be sprayed with VHT (http://www.bazellracefuels.com/VHT.htm) to the 330 ft mark. The tree will be set up as a Sportsman Tree (http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtreesp.html), but could be changed over to a Pro Tree (http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtreepro.html) should anyone wanna try a money heads up race. So just to make sure we are clear we have the track from 8:00A.M. to 4:00P.M. with Norwalks normal test n tune to follow at 5:00P.M. which we can stay for but will have to pay the entry fee. (Last year it was 12 dollars)
Classes for SRT-4's only
Stock turbo on a D.O.T. tire.
Department of Transportation (DOT) Certification
"DOT" is branded on the tire's sidewall indicating the tire is certified to meet or exceed the standards of the Department of Transportation. Following the DOT branding is a serial number designating the tire manufacturer, manufacturing plant, tire size, and date of manufacture.
Stock turbo Slicks
OPEN!!! Anything goes here but it has to be a SRT-4 and have a SRT-4 motor in it while being FWD. Stage3, Big turbo's, N20, slicks, DOT tires whatever bring it.
There will be trophies for 1st and 2nd place in all the classes.
We will also have a best SRT-4 trophy. This could be a show car, a street car, or a really nice race car. This will be judged by me and a few other people.
The best award of them all though is the Jack Ass award that goes to who ever does something really stupid. Last years winner got it for running over someone else's spare tire in the pits and getting his car stuck on the spare wheel. It's going to be tough to beat that one though.
If you pay for the track event before April 1st it will cost you $40.00 and after April 1st you will have to pay $50.00 . Spectators are free! Aslong as we get enough cars pre. Registered we will have someone bring in food in the form of PIZZA (http://aaronneon.com/a-n/) or something else. We'll just have to play this by ear for now.
Now for the work part of the event. we are going to need some help running the Tree. the water box, and people to help keep the time slips straight. G/C SRT'S will be taking a chunck of the work load but we can use all the help we can get for this. If a handfull of people step up and work a hour or so it goes really smoothly. I will make a worker list and post a link to it soon. New for this year we will have CASH PRIZES FOR WORKERS ONLY this year. If you work for 2 time slots your name will go in the drwaing 2 times and so on.
If you have any questions please post them here or PM me.
Thanks
Lon
P.S.
I'm sure Aaronneon is going to put on a dyno day on the following sat.
Paid in full
1) soulstrife (Stock turbo DOT)
2) Scotrn (open)
3) mario03srt (Stock turbo Slicks)
4) Mprtklr (Open)
I say I should be a judge since I won't own a SRT-4. Hehe.
I'll probably be showing up.
